Inspired by private libraries around the globe and pining for a private library of my very own, I set out to create a software to document my personal book collection. I programmed the software using python and Qt for the GUI while leveraging SQLite to store all the data. In order to limit the manual entry, I leveraged a barcode scanner and OpenLibrary's API to collect book information at a much faster pace.
Although some say that HAM radio is a dying hobby, radio has always interested me - be it mission-critical systems, radio broadcast, or flight tracking - it all comes down to over-the-air interfaces. That part fascinates me! So equiped with a HAM radio license and a raspberry pi, my knowledge of PCBA, and a few cheap HAM radios I worked to assemble a small compact HAM radio repeater. Just "because."
While not necessarily one individual project - woodworking has long been a hobby of mine. Growing up the garage was simply "The Shop." Working on home repairs, building electronic kits, or building fine furniture out of walnut, it has always been enjoyable to "get my hands dirty." And the projects sometimes include metal - Welding :-)
Who doesn't want a home server setup? Who doesn't want to play with clusters? Why does everything need to be in a 19-inch rack? I wanted to explore servers, clusters, and build something nice looking! Enter the Dell T110 server that was scrapped - a few heavy modifications and now i have a Raspberry Pi cluster to consider as my "Home Lab."
More details to come as this project progresses!
